Feeding Broiler Chickens with Grape Seed and Skin Meals to Enhance ?- and ?-Tocopherol Content and Meat Oxidative Stability

Grape seeds (GS) and grape skins (GK) are natural sources of polyphenols with featured antioxidant capacity. An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect these polyphenol in diets formulated contain same total extractable content on growth performance, protein digestibility, plasma meat ?- ?-tocopherol thigh oxidation broiler chickens. Five experimental were formulated: control, control + vitamin E (200 mg/kg), 30 g/kg GS diet, 110 GK diet (a mixture 24.4 13.1 designed simulate a reconstituted pomace). Feeding chickens reduced (p < 0.001) daily weight gain, worsened feed conversion ratio, increased non-extractable ileum excreta decreased 0.05) ileal digestibility.
